Diabetes
Today I learned the difference between type I and type II diabetes.
Type I occurs when someone has an inability to produce a proper amount of insulin needed to trigger glucose consumption by their own cells. This causes their blood sugar levels to be higher than a person without this disorder
Type II occurs when someone eats too many goddamn doughnuts and mcdonalds, and screws up their own ability to remove glucose from their blood stream.

Oldest Life on Earth.
Today I learned that there is a species of shrub that grows in Tasmania that is over 43,000 years old. It's called the King's Holly, and has been growing and expanding in a 1.2 sq km area in Tasmania.
